Teaneck International Film Festival, benefiting Villa Marie Claire Hospice

The fourth annual Teaneck International Film Festival, a project of the nonprofit Puffin Foundation, kicks off on Nov. 20 with a party and special screening of "When the Evening Comes," starring Philip Bosco and Anne Meara. The event will benefit Holy Name Hospital's new Villa Marie Claire Hospice, Bergen County's first free-standing hospice and palliative care center, slated to open in early 2010. Light refreshments will be served and Mr. Bosco will participate in a Q&A following the screening, along with writer/actor Leo Marinello and director Craig Geraghty. The festival will present more than a dozen outstanding independent films from the U.S. and around the world throughout the weekend of Nov. 20-22.
Dr. Frank N. Mickens Memorial Classic

The Harlem Hellfighters will play their first football game in New York City against Boys and Girls High School on Friday, November 20 @ 7 P.M. This event will be name the Dr. Frank N. Mickens Memorial Classic. Dr. Mickens served the educational community for more than 36 years. He was the principal of Boys and Girls H.S. for 18 years and created a legacy that will transcend generations to come.

Child writer and mom bring new play to the stage - Goofball Galaxy is a place where children live before they are born on earth.
On December 11th at 10:30 am and December 12th at 1pm Goofball Galaxy will premiere at the New Jersey Meadowlands Environmental Center located at Two DeKorte Plaza, Lyndhurst, NJ. The approximately one hour play will be directed by Jono Hustis who will also perform with a number of members of the highly regarded children’s acting troupe, Story Pirates. Goofball Galaxy will be directed and performed under the name of Story Pirates: Generation Collaboration. Tickets are $5.00 and $4.00 for members.
